How compile a source file in Visual Studio 2005?
I am guessing you are talking about the express editions that were free. This version of visual studio does not include MFC or ATL support so I am afraid you are out of luck unless you can get one of the other versions. According to Microsoft all the other editions of Visual studio 2005 include the MFC and ATL support you need to compile that program.
I have included a link to the page on the MSDN which tells you that it is not included (this is in the frequently asked questions section).
What I would do is go on the file sharing networks and find a copy of visual studio 2003 (full edition) and download that since it does include MFC version 7.1. I have seen it readily available on file sharing networks for download and it may be your best solution.
Hope this helps you out and good luck with the project
