How can I fix an ASSERTION FAILURE that occurs while using Mozilla Firefox?

It makes it impossible to surf the web.

Microsoft Visual C++ Debug Library

Debug Assertion Failed!

Program: c:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec

Shared\ccProxy.exe

File: c:\program files\microsoft visual studio

8\vc\include\xtree

For information on how your program can cause an assertion

It means there's a bug in Symantec Antivirus or Norton Internet Security.

Either that, or it is not co-operating with Firefox.

If you have other anti-viruses, just leave one - they often conflict with each other.

Run Symantec Live-Update, reboot and if it doesn't help, disable all add-ons in Firefox, then bring them on one-by-one to see which one causes the problem.

Let me know if it helped - I'm very curious about what's causing the trouble.
